James Fund Families
Neuroblastoma is what is called an “orphan disease”, meaning that no pharmaceutical has adopted it to find a cure. There simply aren’t enough children fighting the disease to make the development of new treatments profitable.
So it’s left to neuroblastoma families themselves to raise funds and awareness to save their own kids.
We have joined hands and, under the umbrella of The James Fund, together we are funding some of the most exciting work that the neuroblastoma community has seen in 35 years.
You can help by supporting James Fund families in their fundraising:
Barbara’s Butterflies
The Pagliuso family started Barbara’s Butterflies to raise funds to find a cure for neuroblastoma, and to raise awareness. In 3 short weeks they raised $7,000 for The James Fund and are planning future events.
Cure for Nate for Always
Nate’s family and supporters raised $15,000 in pledges by running in the Beaches event.
Daniela’s Flowers
Daniela was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at 10 months old, and today is a thriving 3 year old! Her family and friends have raised over $4,000 so far, and are planning on future events.
Eric’s Wish
Eric held a promotional draw for some donated prizes and figured he could raise about $2,000. He raised $5,500 and then inspired a sweet lady to donate $50,000! We are so proud to announce the Eric Copeland/James Fund Drug Discovery Project.
Kyle’s Fight
Kyle’s family is in full force, raising funds for a cure for neuroblastoma with concerts, calendar sales and their annual Family Day Skate.
Krystianna’s Canter for a Cure
Krystianna’s family is selling ever-popular Regal Gifts with proceeds to The James Fund. Why not shop in support of neuroblastoma research?
Liam’s Hope
Liam isn’t just full of hope, he has Bags of Hope! Check out his initiative selling tote bags.
Matthew Hower
Matthew’s supporters in Winnipeg have raised over $140,000 for The James Fund in Matthew’s name with their Prairie Social, Manitoba Marathon and with special help from friends at St. Ignatius School.
Peloton 65
Our son, Thomas, fought courageously since 2007. Peloton 65 is a growing group of cyclists, family and friends united in the fight against neuroblastoma. We’ve already raised nearly $80,000 for the Alberta Ride to Conquer Cancer (2009-2011), and from this point forward, 100% of our fundraising efforts will benefit The James Fund.
Reese’s Groovy Gala
Reese’s family members are sharing their story in order to raise awareness about neuroblastoma and are hosting some really fun events in Toronto.
Sam’s Day
The Sam’s Day family fun event was established by the Lack family as a special kind of birthday celebration for their son, Sam, who has battled neuroblastoma. Sam’s Day has raised in excess of $200,000 for The James Fund and is funding the Sam Lack Drug Discovery Project.
Sebastian’s Superheroes
Is inspired by the courage of Sebastian Oliveira of London, On. Family and friends will be leading the fundraising activities of this group and we would be grateful for any support you are able to provide. In their first year, they raised an incredible $111,000 and we are pleased to announce the Sebastian Oliveira/James Fund Drug Discovery Project.
Sydney and Georgia HOPE Fund
Sydney is raising money to find a cure for her little sister Georgia who has neuroblastoma. Sydney and her Mom are making bracelets together, which have already raised over $20,000 for The James Fund. PS to Sydney … Tom Hanks is wearing one of your bracelets, and so is Mike Fisher, Michael Burgess and some of the NHL Oldtimers!
The Megan McNeil Gene Discovery Project
The James Fund is grateful to Megan McNeil for dedicating proceeds from her beautiful song, The Will to Survive, to our cause. As a thank you to Megan and her family, we are pleased to announce The Megan McNeil/James Fund Gene Discovery Project.
