THE CAUSE
THIS YEAR’S WALK/RUN FOR THE JAMES FUND WILL SUPPORT a national Neuroblastoma Drug Discovery Project. The work encompasses all of the research done by the labs of Drs. Sylvain Baruchel, Meredith Irwin, David Kaplan, Uri Tabori, and Paul Thorner to discover new drugs to treat neuroblastoma.
This project has many facets, from the lab bench to the clinic, and is in partnership with grants from the Stem Cell Network, Canadian Cancer Society, and Solving Kids Cancer.
There are no cures for neuroblastoma, and it is the goal of the Drug Discovery Project to discover an effective treatment to save our kids.
Walk/Run for The James Fund was inspired by a kindergarten teacher, to mark James’ birthday. (Thank you, Cheryl!) This event is now in its 7th year, has raised over $275,000 for neuroblastoma research and has funded cutting edge research projects.
